Alloy 347 is a niobium stabilized stainless steel alloy used for welding type 347 and type 321 stainless and stainless clad steels. The niobium makes this wire suitable when operating under severe operating conditions in reducing intergranular corrosion. Note that columbium (Cb) is a deprecated term for niobium (Nb).
AWS ER347 welding wire is used for welding 1Cr18Ni11Nb and similar composition austenitic stainless steel.
